Jerry and Peg both grew up around Carroll County, although neither one of them was raised in a farming family. They made the decision to go into farming and have grown and expanded their operation from their original farm, where the base of operation is located. Jerry and Peg have been married 30 years and have two children who both returned to the family farm after graduating college.

Their son, Mark, attained his associate degree in farm management from Muscatine Community College in Muscatine, Iowa. He came back to the farm with new ideas and ready to implement new practices on the crop side of the business. He manages a cattle herd, feeding out fat cattle, or future freezer beef. He also recently constructed a hog barn, which has a 4,000 head capacity from wean to finish.

Jerry and Peg’s daughter, Morgan, recently returned to the farm after completing her bachelor’s degree in animal science/agricultural economics from Purdue University. She is managing the business side of the farm, including billing, accounts, records, advertisement, etc. She also manages a cattle herd and is expanding the beef cattle artificial insemination business.
